Dr. Akenroye, Christopher Taiwo
Dr. Akenroye, Christopher Taiwo is a graduate of University of Ilorin. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting (Second class upper division) in 1997. He also obtained Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in 2001. He additionally obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Accounting at the Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo (Ogun State) in 2018. He completed his doctorate degree in accounting, specializing in financial strategy and sustainability, at the Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo (Ogun State) and was awarded with Doctor of Philosophy (in accounting) in July 2022.
Earlier, he started his professional career in banking in 1998 at the erstwhile United Bank for Africa Plc (Internal Control Division). Later, he advanced his banking professional career in the then Standard Trust Bank Ltd, followed by Oceanic Bank of Nigeria Plc, and finally by Ecobank of Nigeria Ltd. However, while he was in the banking industry, he worked in various departments of the banks ranging from Banking operations, Internal Control Unit, Administration Unit, Inspection Division, Investigation Unit, Customer Complaint Desk and Financial Control. In the banking sector, he had over 14 years of professional experiences to his credit before he voluntarily resigns his appointment in Ecobank Nigeria Ltd in 2012.
He joined the services of Michael and Cecilia Foundation – a Non-Governmental Organization- as Executive General Manager (Finance and Admin) in April 2012. However, in August 2015, he was appointed as the pioneer Bursar of the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Delta State, Nigeria.
His vast experiences in financial advisory services, financial strategy, financial reporting, corporate strategy, capacity building, funds management, strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, financial sustainability, strategic financial management and corporate growth have distinguished him as a thoroughbred 21st century professional with a level-headed and cutting-edge experience.
Overall, he has over twenty-five years of accumulated career in accounting, finance, Internal control, financial control and banking cognate experiences. He is married with children.
