The BSc programme in Biochemistry is designed to produce graduates who will meet the human resource needs of second cycle, tertiary, research institutions, food, brewing and pharmaceutical industries. The programme equips students with:

o     skills and techniques for conducting bioscience research and presentation of results under the supervision of a lecturer,

o     ​educational training in research methodology and statistical tools necessary to conduct research at the workplace,

o     ​broad knowledge-based academic issues in Biochemistry and  related fields

UTME Admission: The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects consisting of English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at a maximum of two sittings. In addition, an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is required for admission into 100 level. Expected duration for UTME candidates shall be 4 years.

UTME Subjects: Students seeking for a degree programme in Biochemistry should enter for the following courses in UTME:  English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Direct Entry: Candidates with at least two A’ level passes in relevant science subjects such as Chemistry and Biology or Zoology/Botany at the GCE Advanced Level, pre-degree or IJMB may be considered for admission into 200 Level. Expected duration for Direct Entry (DE) candidates shall be 3 years.
